Coaching is the most intense and, due to its high degree of individualization, the most efficient human resources development tool a corporation can provide its executives with to enhance their performance. Self-reflection supported by an external consultant facilitates thinking over one’s own behavioral patterns. The implementation of findings resulting from this process always is to the benefit of the commissioning corporation, either immediately or within a short time lag. At any rate, coaching leads to a noticeable increase of the coachee’s development. As business coaches, we opt for the non-directive approach as a matter of principle. However, if appropriate and after explicit indication, we sometimes supplement our coaching work with additional advice from a business consultant’s perspective, which can speed up the coachee’s progress significantly depending on his/her degree of seniority.
